Trinitate Interhouse Sports 2024: A Celebration of Talent and Teamwork
The 2024 Trinitate Interhouse Sports Competition was a great way to show how the school helps students grow in many ways. This exciting event, which takes place every two years, was all about teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship. Purple House won the overall championship after a tough competition between the four houses: Purple, Blue, Yellow, and Green.
The event was designed to support both physical fitness and mental skills. Students took part in popular sports like basket ball, football, volleyball, and handball. These games had separate categories for junior and senior students, making sure that everyone had a chance to compete. Field events like the long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and javelin throw allowed students to shine individually. Meanwhile, track races, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and relay events, encouraged teamwork and determination.
One thing that makes Trinitate’s inter-house sports special is the mix of modern and traditional games. Alongside regular sports, students played Ayo, a traditional African board game, as well as Scrabble, chess, and Monopoly. These games helped students think critically, plan, and make smart decisions. The school believes that developing both physical and mental skills is important for success.
At the end of the competition, Purple House earned the top position because of their consistent performance in both sports and strategy games. Blue House came in second, Yellow House in third, and Green House in fourth. However, the real success of the event was seen in the teamwork, leadership, and fair play shown by all the students.
This year’s competition was a great example of Trinitate’s ‘Body and Mind’ program, which combines physical activities with thinking games to help students grow into strong and intelligent leaders. By including junior and senior students in every event, the school ensures that this growth starts early and continues throughout their education.
“Our inter-house sports competition is more than just a set of games,” said a school official. “It is a way to show how we develop students to be successful in all areas of life. Seeing their energy and commitment across so many different activities proves that our approach to education is working.”
